203/365

Name: Carol
Three words to describe yourself: a nature lover
Carol was born in Defiance, Ohio and has lived in Indiana since 1959. She was a factory worker and has worked for two companies. For 35 years, Carol worked for a company making car parts like steering wheels, and then she worked for another factory making spray gun equipment for painting. She is now retired and says, "Family, friends, and my church family are very important to me." Normally, Carol and her husband (see below) put 10,000 miles every summer on the Harley. Her favorite place that she has traveled to was South Dakota and seeing Old Faithful and Yellowstone. She said they got stuck in a buffalo herd once. She still wants to take a cruise to Hawaii and Alaska and would like to see the Grand Canyon. One time, Carol took a raft ride on the Colorado River near the Hoover Dam with her dad, stepmom, and her sister's mother-in-law who was 83 years old at the time. She says, "I think we've been very fortunate of the friends we've had because they live all over the country." Carol has ten brothers and sisters, and she has ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. As a kid living with all those siblings, Carol said, "We always played in the woods . . . we were pretty close." Carol also mentions, "I have a very special mother-in-law who will be 97 in July . . . I call her mom . . . she doesn't have high blood pressure or high cholesterol or anything!"
