Name: Camilo
Three words to describe yourself: international, mature, logical
I met Camilo during a lecture on Global Leadership and met him by means of one of my hallmates. Camilo was born in Medellin, Columbia and moved to the United States when he was seven years old. His family wanted to give him "more opportunities" and his uncle lived in Marietta, GA, so they moved to Georgia. He liked Columbia because the country was "more family oriented" and people could have a "healthier childhood" and "are more socially active". He wishes he could have spent more time growing up in Colombia, but he has had more opportunities living in the United States. Last year, Camilo lived in Germany as part of a foreign exchange program. For the first semester, he studied German, but the second semester, he had two internships involving City-Works and the World Wind Energy Association. In his life time, he "[wants] to see the world and become more international . . . and be able to help people in [his] country". Camilo is currently studying environmental engineering and is thinking about working with sustainability in Columbia. He is trilingual (English, Spanish, German) but would also like to learn Italian, Portuguese, French, and maybe Russian or Arabic.
