Name: Edward
Three words to describe yourself: short, hardworking, disciplined
Edward was born in Abilene, TX but spent the first ten years of his life living in Panama and said the country was "paradise". He did not have television growing up, so he had to play outdoors. His father was in the military, so his family had to move around a lot. Edward spent junior high living in South Dakota, one year in New York, and one year in Phoenix, AZ. When I asked how moving around affected him growing up, he replied, "When you first move, it's difficult to meet friends", but he is still in touch with his best friend from 5th grade. Edward moved to Germany during high school and said the country "was more fun than any other place [he's lived in]". He met my dad in Germany in 10th grade English and Geometry classes. My dad was "the class clown" in school and Edward was the very shy new student so they "built up a friendship". One day my dad had asked him, "Hey Ed, you want to skip class?". "We've been friends ever since". I asked if he could tell me any other crazy stories about being friends with my dad. He pleaded the 5th. Edward now has two sons, is a single-parent, and is an engineer. He works with micro-electrical mechanical systems, or MEMS, and builds computer chips.
