162/365

Name: Sharon
Three words to describe yourself: resilient, creative, caring
I met Sharon on an airplane and she was visiting her son in San Antonio. Sharon is originally from Missouri and attended Festus College, which is south of St. Louis. Because Sharon has a sister who is deaf, she knows signs language, so Sharon became a teacher for the deaf. Because Sharon's husband worked in Tampa, they moved to Florida, and in 1987, she took a year off from teaching and started a fine arts gallery business where Sharon teaches art classes (mainly water color and acrylic). Before the recession, Sharon said that they prepared art from international artists. "When times were good, I used to travel to California to see artists we published," she said. Her current goal is to move away from corporate art services to teaching full time. Sharon has also traveled to Ireland; her ancestors came from North Ireland to South Ireland, to Virginia, then finally Missouri. She had a group of college friends whom she had lost touch with. Two of the friends eventually came across each other and got the whole group together. Now the group occasionally meets for a weekend somewhere in the U.S. Here is her business' website: http://visualconceptsfl.com/index.html
